English Language Courses
Throughout the year KMT runs flexible courses to suit the needs
of individual client or small group of students who work in the
professional, industrial or commercial sectors. Each program is
designed, in consultation with the client, to meet the professional
requirements of business, engineering, travel or the petroleum industry.
Special courses are available on request.
General English Language courses
(E-1) Beginner. The course is designed for beginners and
for those who have learned a little English but don’t yet feel confident
enough to move on. They want to go back and refresh their skills
before they move forward.
(E-2) Elementary. The courses of this level are designed
for those who want to use English accurately and fluently. English
is presented thoroughly and in logical order. The vocabulary has
been carefully selected to avoid overload. There are many practice
activities, which give learners the confidence they need to proceed.
(E-3) Pre-Intermediate (two modules). This is a comprehensive
course. The aims of the course are to encourage students to analyze
the systems of language in use, to expose them to a variety of challenging
and interesting listening and reading activities, and to stimulate
them to give their own opinions and participate in discussions and
role-plays .
(E-4) Intermediate (two modules). The course includes new
universal topics, detailed treatment of grammar, thorough well-defined
vocabulary syllabus and useful everyday English.
(E-5) Upper-Intermediate. This is a multi-level course for
those who want to develop their accuracy and fluency in English.
Grammar and vocabulary are taught and explained thoroughly, and
language skills are developed systematically. This course brings
the student up to the level of Cambridge First Certificate.
English for Business or Professional Purposes
(E-6) Business English. This course is designed to develop
language and communications skills in business, the understanding
of authentic business language, an awareness of customs and manners
and general business expertise.
(E-7) English for drivers. The course is designed to develop
drivers’ English language knowledge at a beginner level to provide
them with a selected vocabulary, question/answer models and a limited
grammatical syllabus. The course should include highly controlled
practice activities, which give drivers the confidence they need
to proceed at their work. In general this course presents simple
functional English in useful situations for the drivers to listen
to and practice. Vocabulary is structured to ensure that the driver
can understand the radio or telephone calls/conversations, passenger
directions, addresses, etc.
(E-8) Oil and Gas Industry English (three modules). This
course is designed for Intermediate level students who want to improve
their English in the Oil and Gas industry language. The course teaches
specific terms and expressions. It also helps to develop the skills
of planning, delivering, comprehending and managing a presentation.
(E-9) Legal English (three modules). This course is for Intermediate
level students who want to understand and use legal terminology.
It will help students to become a persuasive lawyer, adapting their
language style for different occasions. Students will learn to agree
and disagree fluently and appropriately, defending arguments politely
and firmly and in an appropriate style.
(E-10) English for technicians. This course is designed for
absolute beginners and is suitable for workers who want to develop
their English in the mechanical or industrial field. The course
includes specific terms and expressions.
